PIs of the DMDZ organized successful MEMO 2024

With over 300 participants on site, MEMO 2024 was one of the largest MEMO conferences and set new standards in the discussion on administrative digitization. Under the motto “BürokraKI: Between specialist procedures and ChatGPT”, the latest trends and technologies in the field of administrative digitization were discussed.

The event was characterized by top-class speakers and inspiring workshops. The highlight in terms of content from the research group's perspective was the workshop we organized entitled “Strengthening networks, growing digitally: mastering digitization challenges specific to medium-sized cities”. In a lively and constructive discussion, we were able to jointly develop solutions to topics such as silo thinking, personnel and skills management and change management.

The consistently positive feedback from participants emphasized not only the quality of the content, but also the excellent service on site. Visitors and exhibitors praised the friendliness and helpfulness of the organization team, which contributed significantly to the success of the conference.

We take away that it remains a challenge to convince decision-makers in the municipalities of the important topics on the way to the digital city of the future. Events such as MEMO 2024 are therefore an important step towards not only promoting the networking of medium-sized cities, but also to drive forward the work of persuasion for the necessary topics of administrative modernization.
