Being agile is not a question of 'if', but of 'how' and 'when'. We gained this insight during our visit last week to the inspiring project management and digitalization team of the city of Lünen, led by Susanne Kaletta. For agile digitalization projects in medium-sized cities to be successful, common values and principles must first be established within the team. This is precisely where the team is doing pioneering work, providing training in agile methods not only internally but also externally. We were given an insight by taking part in two iterations of an agile development process ourselves. Finally, in an open discussion with the entire team, we were thankfully able to gain many insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by medium-sized companies in digitalization projects.
